MBA (Banking & Finance)

The MBA (Banking & Finance) program has been designed jointly by ICICI Bank (the “Bank”) and Manipal University as a Work Integrated Learning Program (WILP) to provide an innovative and application oriented management program with direct relevance to the working environment.

This program has been designed keeping in view the requirements of the Bank to train their officers to be effective business managers and provide them an opportunity to acquire higher educational qualification, while working at various locations of the Bank. The program is therefore customized to the Bank’s needs.

The MBA (Banking & Finance) program is being offered by Manipal University exclusively to Probationary Officers of the Bank who have hitherto successfully completed the PGDB program and shall lead to the award of MBA (Banking & Finance) degree. Probationary Officers who have secured the PGDB from Manipal University and are in continuous employment with the Bank are eligible to apply.

The program will be of 18 months duration and the maximum extended duration available to applicants for completion of the program will be 36 months. The program is offered exclusively to the employees of the bank meeting the required criteria. In case a participant resigns from the services of bank, he or she will be deemed to have exited the MBA programme with immediate effect (from the date of resignation). Further the participant will not be eligible for transfer of credits from this program to any of the program of the Manipal University or any other university.

Total credits offered under the program are 130 of which 70 credits will flow from the completed PGDBF program.

 

The learning methodology will be a blend of self-study and guided learning, which when broadly broken down will translate to around 5 to 6 hours of study on a weekly basis. Study material will be provided on the Program Learning Portal. The guided learning will be facilitated through a mix of case discussions, webinars and contact classes (Face–to–Face Sessions).

 

Assessment and evaluation would be through

[a] Continuous assessment on the learning portal and

[b] Through Term End University examination which will be conducted by Manipal University across various locations.

 

Fee structure and Options

The basic program fees will be ₹ 1.50 lacs payable in advance in three equal instalments at the beginning of terms 5, 7 and 9. In addition, an application processing fee of ₹ 1,000 (Non-Refundable) will be payable at the time of registration. A convocation degree certificate fee of ₹ 1,000 will be payable along with the last instalment of the course fee.

Fee may be paid either on self-funding basis or using specific loan that may be provided by the Bank.
